We loved every detail of Emily and Aaron’s destination wedding on Lake Maggiore and so happy to have assisted in making it happen. Wedding planning throughout the Pandemic, from San Francisco to Italy, there were certainly many challenges; perseverance paid off in the end!
Their story:
Aaron and met in summer 2016 at a pool party in Vegas. We got engaged in Oct 2019 in Florida. Aaron surprised me on the beach where he proposed and his whole family came to surprise me for our engagement dinner.
My Dad is Italian by ancestry and Italy has been a special place for the family since I was young. I always knew I wanted to get married in Italy. We choose Lake Maggiore because we love the lake region and wanted something that felt romantic like a fairy-tale.
We were particularly in love with the history, authenticity of Italian luxury and of course the location, right on the lake.
Our Italian wedding day was better than we expected and magical, as everything had been planned long distance via computer. We were surprised by almost everything, the venues, the food, the décor and the highlights were our beautiful ceremony setup, first dance together and with friends and all the surprise music! The music was incredible!
Truthfully most of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been too. Other comments: ‘it was the best food they ever had at a wedding’. Others said it was the most unique experience being in Italy at such a beautiful place for a wedding
One of the challenges of wedding planning was how different it was to work with Italian suppliers, sometimes they were a bit vague but the actual day was full of surprises which was actually fun.
A highlight was getting to finally meet our wedding planner Jayne, who is so loving and genuine.
