Poppy Rogers & Scott Powell’s Story

Enjoy reading the story of this wonderful couple and their very special wedding in Italy which took place on 18th September 2021!

We met around seven years ago at my brother’s wedding that was held in Las Vegas and after 3 years of dating we decided to take a spontaneous trip to Salzburg in Austria for the Christmas Markets.  We walked along the markets to the Hohensalzburg Fortress with the incredible views over the city and the mountains. It was lightly snowing, fairy lights twinkling and just as the sun started to set Scott asked me to be with him forever by getting down on one knee, which of course I agreed to!

I had travelled to Italy many times but never Lake Como so we decided to pop over and look at a venue which was so much better than on-line photos.  When we visited the light over the lake glistened and I could picture myself walking down the staircase to my husband with the view of the lake in the background.  We we’e treated extremely well by senior staff, and we even got to try the food and the drinks.

In Italy, we were offered numerous menu choices, 6 courses with 4 different desserts and wines to match. It was a no brainer for us to choose Italy as we both love Italian food and wine and we knew our guests would too!

To sum up our wedding day it was Dreamy – Full of love – Magical.

Luckily a storm on the previous day cleared and quite early on we realised we would be lucky enough to hold all three elements of our wedding completely outside.

The highlights for me were walking down the staircase with both my brothers on my arm and them handing me over to my father. The band we had hired were totally fantastic – we had forgotten after 2 years with not being allowed to visit gigs or go to live shows during the Pandemic how lovely it was to have a  band perform, where we could dance freely and sing along. It was electric!

To quote my friend Olivia “no one will ever be able to get married after this, as this wedding has beaten every past and future wedding there will ever be!”

I also had a lot of wonderful feedback about the boat trip across the lake, which they loved!

What was the best thing about our  wedding planning?  That I always knew Jayne was just a phone call or text away to answer my random queries!
